China has tested a ballistic missile armed with a warhead that can launch at supersonic speeds at low altitudes, making its monitoring by air defense means almost impossible.

The theory of ballistic missiles depends on starting at a high altitude and then returning to earth in a semi-circle path, which in its final phase depends on the theory of free fall.

The new missile has a head following the same steps as ballistic missiles, but at low altitudes while returning to the atmosphere, making it faster to reach the target than the anti-ballistic missile shield.

China has conducted a ballistic missile test in November, dubbed “DF-17” with a warhead, which can launch at supersonic speeds towards the target , the magazine The Diplomat reported.

According to a US official who declined to be identified, intelligence reports indicate that China conducted two new missile tests called the “DF-17” and that the tests were conducted on November 1 and 15.

The US source pointed out that the missile tested by China is classified as a medium range, and range between 1800 to 2500 km, indicating that the information obtained indicates that the missile can carry nuclear warheads and conventional.

It is expected that the new Chinese missile will enter service in 2020.

The United States, Russia and China are conducting research to develop new missile technology, which is a major challenge to anti-ballistic missile weapons.

The idea of the new rockets depends on the use of the conventional ballistic missile path to launch, but the new development is that it does not follow the same semi-circular course of known missiles as they turn to Earth.

The magazine pointed out that the head of the new missile is moving towards the target at a low altitude ultrasonic speed, which enables him to escape from the radar ultrasonic speed.
