A car bomb exploded in the town of Salouq on the outskirts of the city of Benghazi before Saturday afternoon near the home of a senior official in the eastern region of Libya without causing casualties.

“A car bomb exploded at around 10:45 am (0845 GMT) near one of the main streets of Salouq without any casualties,” a source at the Benghazi security department told Xinhua.

The source suggested that the explosion was carried out remotely, where the car was seen early standing at the site where it exploded.

The source added that “the car exploded near the house of Hajj Musa al-Nimr, one of the elders and dignitaries of the eastern region.”

In turn, the municipal council in Slouk, in a post on the official page on (Facebook), a car bomb explosion without recording injuries.

No one immediately claimed responsibility for the blast.
