UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — British Prime Minister Theresa May will meet with Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin on Tuesday to discuss Britain’s exit from the European Union, a German government spokesman said on Monday.

Spokesman Steffen Seibert said that the interdependence of the rest of the EU’s 27 member states has always been important to Germany and that the talks will take place in this spirit.

He added that Germany wanted relations with Britain to remain as close and friendly as possible after the exit.
