British FM will resign on Wednesday because of the EU exit without an agreement

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — British Finance Minister Philippe Hammond said on Sunday he would resign on Wednesday before his expected dismissal by the most likely candidate for British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

“I’m sure I will not be fired because I’m going to quit before we get to that point,” Hammond told the BBC’s Andrew Marr program.

“Assuming that Boris Johnson becomes Prime Minister, I understand that his terms of stay in his government will include accepting the exit (from the EU) without an agreement on October 31. This is something I can not participate in.”
