The National Health Service of Great Britain appealed to local councils and shopping centers to ban Christmas tours of Coca-Cola trucks because of the deteriorating health of children. The British newspaper The Guardian writes about this.
Duncan Selby, executive director of Public Health England, criticized the annual campaign, where decorated trucks, visit the major cities of the kingdom.
Comments Selby appeared against the backdrop of the publication of a new study, according to which, in most places where the tour takes place, children have a high level of obesity and caries.
“Major brands traveling around the country on Christmas Day, advertise their sweetest products for children and increase sales, not helping families make a choice for a healthy lifestyle,” Selby said.
Earlier it was reported that Coca-Cola and PepsiCo would reduce the sugar content in their drinks for Singapore.
