UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — US National Security Advisor to the President John Bolton urged world banks not to cooperate with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

“The bankers, do not help Maduro and his associates to steal the assets of the Venezuelan people. The US is monitoring the situation. The world and the people of Venezuela are also,” Bolton said on Twitter.

The United States will not disregard the question of foreign financial companies that help Maduro. “The United States will not remain indifferent in a situation where foreign financial institutions promote illegal transactions, advantage from which Maduro and his colleagues get. These organizations root the corruption that has ravaged Venezuela,” said Bolton.

The US on the eve imposed sanctions against the Russian-Venezuelan “Eurofinance Mosnarbank.” The bank was sanctioned for liaising with Venezuela’s state-owned oil corporation PDVSA, which is included in the SDN List.

US Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin noted that the sanctions imposed against Eurofinance Mosnarbank confirm the US determination to persecute supporters of Maduro.
