UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Calling the US President’s political approach to Iran illegitimate, the German deputy foreign minister promised to encourage German companies to trade with Iran.
According to the German newspaper Der Tagesspiegel, in response to renewed tension between the United States and Iran, the Green Party of Germany has asked the country’s foreign minister, Heiko Maas, to visit Iran as soon as possible.
The spokesman of the Greens in the Bundestag (German Parliament), Omid Nouripour warned against increasing the risk of war in the region and asked the Federal Foreign Minister, Heiko Maas, to arrange a trip in Iran and assume a mediating role to help ease tensions.
As a reminder, Iran has given 60 days to Europe to fulfill its commitments under the PGAC, particularly with regard to oil and financial transactions; “Otherwise, Iran will leave for its part the nuclear agreement,” warned the Iranian government.
According to the Greens spokesman in the Bundestag, the German government will have no choice but to speak louder in Washington.
“It’s been a year since the United States tried to destroy the PGAC; the Foreign Minister will have to talk about it one day,” said Nouripour, adding that Germany should find a way to encourage Iran to stay in the nuclear deal.
