In Bali, forced evacuation may begin

The National Office for the Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters in Bali stated that the large-scale eruption of the volcano Agung is virtually inevitable, reports on Tuesday BBC news.

In this regard, people living near the volcano and not having time to leave home, can be evacuated forcibly.

Nevertheless, some locals believe that staying in this zone is safe, others are afraid to leave unattended livestock.

In the danger zone, there are still tens of thousands of people. In total, about 100 thousand people live there.

The island airport is closed for the second day. Thousands of tourists still can not fly from a popular resort.

Representative of the National Disaster Management Department Sutopo Purvo Nugroho said that the evacuation zone is combed for the presence of people who have not been evacuated.

“The employees of the management go from house to house, figuring out if there are tenants who need to be evacuated forcibly,” he said.

Some do not leave their homes, because during their last eruption, which occurred 50 years ago, their homes were not affected.

The airport of the island is still closed, because of which thousands of tourists can not fly.

Meanwhile, ash is rising from the crater, and at a distance of 12 km there is a roar. At night, the tongues of flame are visible.

The last large-scale eruption of Anung was in 1963. Then one and a half thousand people were killed.
