The airbase of the Armed Forces of Australia was brought into a state of increased combat readiness because of the appearance of Russian strategic bombers Tu-95MS in neutral waters off the coast of Indonesia. This is reported by ABC.

As noted, the incident occurred in early December. Such measures at the base in the city of Darwin were taken for a short time in connection with the training maneuver of Russian aircraft.

In this case, the airspace of Australia was not violated.

According to the Ministry of Defense of Russia, Tu-95MS bombers carried out air patrols over the neutral waters of the South Pacific on December 7.
