UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Turkey and the United States trying to establish a secure area in northern Syria have faced strong opposition from Syrian tribes.
The Syrian tribes organized on Sunday, July 28, a meeting in the village of al-Hass, in the south of the province of Aleppo.
All Syrian tribes are for the preservation of Syrian territorial integrity and ready to fight against the foreign plan whose objective is to dismember through the establishment of a (supposedly) secure zone in order to plunder Syrian resources.
The Berri, al-Bqara, al-Bakara, al-Naim, al-Hadidinet and al-Assassanat tribes expressed their opposition to any kind of foreign domination over Syria or part of that territory by rejecting Turkish interference in Syrian affairs in all its forms.
They affirmed that under international law, the borders of the Syrian Arab Republic must be preserved and they will not let anyone change them.
“It is up to the Syrian people to decide their fate. Syrian territory and its resources like oil and mines belong to all Syrians “, announced all the Syrian tribes.
Affirming that Syria is the homeland of all the inhabitants of this country and that all citizens are equal before the law, the Syrian tribes have indicated that the Syrian flag is the symbol of unity, freedom and sovereignty.
Syrian tribes have called on the Syrian government to exercise sovereignty over the entire Syrian territory and to forgive all those whose hands are not stained with blood. They also called on international bodies to assume their humanitarian role and Western countries to lift their cruel economic sanctions.
Turkey and the United States have agreed despite Damascus’ opposition to establishing a secure area in northern Syria, which has not been achieved yet.
Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Al-Moallem has once again expressed his opposition to the agreement reached between Ankara and Washington. “This agreement is a flagrant violation of Syrian territorial integrity and sovereignty. It was concluded in flagrant violation of the principles of international law,” responded the Syrian minister.
