More than 40 people were hospitalized due to carbon monoxide poisoning on one of the farms in Delta, the Canadian province of British Columbia. This was announced on Sunday by CTV.

As explained in the Ministry of Health of the region, the hospital was taken to 42 people, 10 of them in serious or critical condition.

The incident occurred in one of the greenhouses.

According to the preliminary version, people were poisoned by carbon monoxide because of the possible breakdown of the gas engine of the washing machine, which is used to clean the room.

For more than 20 years, cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers have been grown on this farm, which are exported to different countries of the world.

Delta is located about 30 km south of Vancouver – the largest city of British Columbia.
